While getting enough potassium from your diet is possible, you will need to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables to do so. For example, one medium banana contains just over 300 milligrams of potassium. How Potassium Impacts the Heart

Researchers have found that low potassium levels can cause stiff arteries and calcification, which can lead to blood clots and heart attacks. So, increasing potassium levels may help prevent against high blood pressure, stroke, and heart disease. A potassium supplement can be an excellent way to get more potassium in your body and improve your heart health.
